Finally done with a quilt!

I finally finished my first quilt on my new sewing machine - and I am in LOVE with it!  It is the first quilt I ever machine quilted and I really like how it turned out!

I used the safety pin method for basting... I may need to use 505 spray for my daughters quilt because that would be a lot of safety pins!

I just used my walking foot and straight stitched along the zigzags in the white with white thread.  It worked really well and am excited to try some other machine quilting!

I love love love the "crinkly" look that the quilt got after being machine washed.

And I made a tag for this quilt - the first time I've done that.  I'd really like to get some professional looking tags, but this will do for now!

I have lots on my plate now.  Working on another zigzag quilt now (pink and grey) for a baby girl that was just born.  I am really into zig zag at the moment!  Also we're leaving for Disney in 2 weeks and I have 2 dresses to make for my daughter and our Halloween costumes for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  We are all going as pirates!

  2. LOVE. The zigzag quilts are so gorgeous. That pattern shows off the gradations in color so well. So your hard work piecing all those pieces pays off! I love the crinkly look after washing too. That's what makes a quilt a quilt to me. Eternal fluffiness looks like a store-bought comforter. :)
